Websites

Here are some websites that I have designed.

Wedding Website

The Exciting Times

In the process of getting married I created a website to provide info for those who wanted to attend the wedding. I gave it a newspaper feel since to me it was "front page news". My favorite part was the online RSVP function for those who wanted to RSVP digitally. The RSVP's were automatically sent to my email client. This website is fully functioning.

Scrumptious Gifts Website

Scrumptious Gifts

This is one of my earliest websites. This was for my XHTML class so it was entirely written in code using only a text editor. I was provided the text and photos but the design was completely up to me. This is also a fully functioning website.

Perfect Partner Website

Perfect Partner

Another one of my earliest websites. This mock website appears functional but the form doesn't actually process. What it does do is link to a results page when you click the "submit" button. I am particularly proud of the results page because I succeeded in making the rollover tabs work using Javascript, something I had no previous training in. And it's simply fun to do. Note that the results page isn't fully functional either, clicking on the individual results or the "next 5 results" link will not link to anything.

Traveling Tutor Website

Traveling Tutor

This is a website that I built for my tutoring services recently. I never advertised it though because I realized that I was going to move right after I got married and it seemed unwise to get new clients and then disappear. I really like the color scheme and design throughout this one. This website is fully functioning.

Videos

Here are some videos and clips that I have made. A lot of these videos begin with a black screen so you won't see anything in the video player until you push the play button. Enjoy.

'What Not to Watch' commercial

What Not to Watch

This project was for my first video editing class. We were to make our own Fandango commercial using paper puppets. Fandango is the service where you reserve tickets to movies ahead of time online. I created my own paper bag character and introduced the idea of a "free preview" that was a little more real than desired.

'Victim of Gravity' video

Victim of Gravity

This was for my Adobe Flash animation class. We were to re-animate a "Schoolhouse Rock" song of our choosing using our own vision. My partner and I chose "Victim of Gravity" and after some brainstorming we decided to personify gravity. Then using the song's words and sound effects the images practically drew themselves. Well--it wasn't quite that easy.

Start Animation clip

Start Animation

This is a short animation done in Motion. The project was to make a mini-ad for the college using logos and photos provided by them.

Log clip

Log Commercial

This animation was also made using Motion. It's a compilation of three short clips based on the lyrics "The Log Song" from the "Ren and Stimpy Show". I kindly left out the sound bytes.

'You Say Potato, I Say Friend' video

You Say Potato, I Say Friend

This is a film I made for a contest put on by Apple. I put together a team consisting of my peers and a high school student. We had to make a short film within 24 hours and include at least three elements given to us on the day of the contest. By adapting a plot I already had in my head we came up with this end result. My team was great and I am happy with what we pulled off in such a short amount of time.

Start Commercial

Start Commercial

This is a commercial that I made for Lincoln Land Community College as a student. The class I made it in was called Intermediate Non-Linear Video Editing which is a fancy name for digital film editing. It was displayed on LLCC's home page during July 2008.

Portfolio video

Video Portfolio

This was a Motion final. We were to make a portfolio piece of some of our work and since I had recently made so many videos I focused on them. I used Motion, Final Cut Pro, Illustrator, Flash, Sountrack Pro, LiveType and Photoshop to make this video. Whew! Talk about being all-inclusive.
